The Riesling Run and the Rheingau Half Marathon take place through the vineyards of Oestrich-Winkel, where the Wine Queen gives the starting signal. This traditional event, which was previously organized by the Turngemeinde Mittelheim, is now continued by the Turngemeinde Winkel. The route winds through the gentle hilly landscape of the vineyards, rewarding runners with an idyllic panorama of the Rhine Valley and is mostly paved with gentle inclines. The first segment of the half marathon is identical to the 10 km run.
